Low Tsh Levels Before Pregnancy
Can a low TSH completely prevent pregnancy ? Not extremely low but median low. Can the medication alap have an effect ?Thanks in advance
Thyroid problem: Decrease TSH may be a result of primary disease of pituitary gland causing secondary hypothyroidism or it may be a consequence of negative feed back of elevated thyroid hormone (T4) in thyrotoxicosis. Both may (not always) cause infertility or menstrual cycle abnormality. After treatment, hormone levels return to normal and pregnancy is achieved more easily. ...Read more
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. However, the suspected hyperthyroidism needs to be confirmed with high levels of T3 (liothyronine) and free t4. All lab tests need to be evaluated in the clinical context and it would be prudent to take up the issue with your doctor. ...Read more
Very low TSH with high normal free T4. Twitching. Changed dose. How long til levels normal out? Still twitching 2 weeks later. Had basic neuro exam.
What did you: change the dose of? If it's thyroid replacement, it can take weeks for the level to normalize, asumming you're now on the correct dose. If it's an ANTI-thyroid drug, it can takes months to work as it only inhibits the formation of NEW thyroid hormone, not the hormone that's already been manufactured. ...Read more

With low TSH levels hyperthyroid is off the table right? What other issues, full normal blood panel, could cause a major weight loss?
Low tsh?: Normal TSH values fall within a range. If the TSH is low, or in other words, below the lower limit of normal, it may suggest your thyroid is overactive.
