Low Tsh High T Uptake
Preg wife-had low TSH high t3/t4 tsabs; drs didn't treat; now has elevated liver enzymes; so, can untreated grave's dis. Cause elevated enzymes?
Chronic fatigue? Low TSH high beta globulins, high LFT, nuclear studies normal, all hormones normal. Any suggestions ?

Endocrinologist says my thyroid 2 low. Tsh-3gen 6.30 FTI 2.4 TotT4 8.8 T-uptake 27.8 wants to increase meds. I have no T gland. No symp. What's low?

Mild hyperthyroidism: Unless you are taking thyroid medication (and taking too much) this could mean mild hyperthyroidism. If your doc measured TSH, FT3 and FT4, (s)he must have suspected something. Low thyroid : A high TSH almost always means that there is too little thyroid hormone in the blood. It would not usually cause decreased kidney function as suggested by a low egfr (estimated glomerular filtration rate) or breakdown of red blood cells (hemolysis). Stress can increase tsh, but how high cortisol causes low TSH where as stress causes high cortisol production.?
Cortisol: This is a very complex system. In very basic terms cortisol is produced in response to stress and feeds back inhibiting production of itself (inhibiting crh and acth). Cortisol also inhibits TSH production (as well as growth hormone, estrogen, testosterone and lh production). Thus limiting the response to stress.
