Big picture: Cannot diagnose you in one paragraph. I would have to do a major work up. But possiblities include an infection such as lyme, toxicity of some kind including heavy metals, micronutrient deficiencies, etc. There is likely more than one thing going on. See a good endocrinologist if you have not done so yet. ...Read more

What causes low TSH, low T4 and low T3 (liothyronine)?

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would have helped to know the actual values. Even though all these parameters may be low, these may yet be in the normal range. ...Read more

Could my adrenals and thyroid levels being low affect my high iron but low RBC levels?

High iron: Probably not. If you have been having low RBC levels you may have been given high doses of iron. If the low RBC is not iron deficiency anemia, then iron will not help. High iron in blood can cause many problems including accumulation in the liver causing hemachromatosis. ...Read more

Can low thyroid cause high cholesterol?

Can low thyroid cause high cholesterol?

Endocrine effects: Thyroid hormone helps us with metabolism. If your thyroid hormone is low, your body is unable to manage the lipids appropriately and this leads to high cholesterol of the 'bad types' (triglycerides, low density lipids and very low density lipids) and lowering the good cholesterol (high density lipid). Our bodies need to be firing on all cylinders! ...Read more

Can this be hypopituitairism: high cortisol, highish prolactin, low HGH, lowish TSH, low LH and FSH in luteal phase, (lowish in follicular), low ADH (vasopressin)?

Can this be hypopituitairism: high cortisol, highish prolactin, low HGH, lowish TSH, low LH and FSH in luteal phase, (lowish in follicular), low ADH (vasopressin)?

Pituitary: It is difficult to diagnose hypopituitarism vased on labs you provided. High cortisol goes against hypopituitarism. High prolactin can lower FSH and LH.. TSH normal range is 0.3-4.. If pituitary dysfunction is suspected , we check Free T4, not TSH.. I hope this answers your question ...Read more

Could hyperthyroidism mean low or high testosterone?

Could hyperthyroidism mean low or high testosterone?

Yes!: Your thyroid is a butterfly shaped organ towards the front of your neck. Hyperthyroidism is a condition of excess thyroid hormone. Low free t3, (liothyronine) normal TSH and high tpo antibodies. What's this mean?

Low free t3, (liothyronine) normal TSH and high tpo antibodies. What's this mean?

Probable hypothyroid: The free t4, not free T3 (liothyronine) test, is necessary here. Positive antibodies indicate hashimoto's thyroiditis, the most common cause of hypothyroidism. It may just be early in the process to cause the TSH to be elevated. ...Read more

What could cause high mch, high mcv, low rdw, low B12 and high iga??

What could cause high mch, high mcv, low rdw, low B12 and high iga??

Tapeworm: The High MCV and MCH would be expected with B12 deficiency as the RBC's are being discharge young from the bone marrow. Low RDW just tells you you have only one predominant population of RBCs (dark large ones) Elevated IgA can be caused by several conditions but a tapewor taking up residence in the terminal ilium would block the binding of intrinsic factor / B12 complex to its receptors. ...Read more

Could rhodiola cause low TSH levels?

Could rhodiola cause low TSH levels?

Unlikely but...: Rhodiola is known to improve thyroid function and thus might be expected to reduce TSH levels somewhat (though more research on this is needed). However, a low TSH tends to be a sign of hyperthyroidism and, as far as i know, rhodiola is not known to stimulate the thyroid to the point of hyperthyroidism. ...Read more
