Infection: You should see your doctor. Fever/chills are symptoms of infection and you should have a full exam. If your period is late a pregnancy test is absolutely indicated if if is possible you're pregnant. Not normaly.: Normal temperature in a 20 yr male should be 37 deg celcius or 98 deg f. There is a large variability in the technique used to measure temperature. 40 is high. There are medical conditions which can cause this. Please get help. ...Read more

Fever from what?: A 103 fever by itself will not hurt the child. The question is, what is causing the fever? If it is the same respiratory virus (common cold) that the rest of the family has it is not a worry and may last up to 5-7 days. However, if the child has an undiagnosed ear infection, pneumonia or urinary tract infection, that would be more worrisome. ...Read more
