Having said that, high alkaline phosphate may due to liver or bone disease, and sometimes intestinal disorders. It is normally high in children and during pregnancy.

However the number over 2000 may warrant a workup to make sure there is no underlying pathology. Some medication may affect the level of this enzyme as well.
