Can constipation cause a mild fever in a toddler? There are no other symptoms besides constipation and fever at 101-99
Not from my experia: I think most of my patients go thru a constipation phaze at one time or another, or it just seems so, but they don't generally run temp with it. The exception are some chronic retainers who in mid to late childhood skip the function for a week or so and end up so full & stressed that serial enemas are needed to clear them. I did have a 14 yo with 103 that resolved with enemas. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What could cause low grade fuo's in my 18 month daughter ? She has no other symptoms except low appetite.
Many things...: Could be a simple viral illness. Teething could possibly cause a low grade temp and not wanting to eat. Bladder infections could cause some nausea, vomiting and temp. If by low grade, you mean 99 - and she's otherwise looking fine, acting well, even if not eating as much (toddlers are finicky), i'd give it a few days. If anything changes, see doc sooner. ...Read more

As long as he is able and willing to drink fluids through this, that is one of the most important things. If he otherwise looks well, supportive care like this will allow his body to clear the virus.
