Low Globulin Blood Test Results
Hi, blood test results back and my globulin levels are 37g/l and believe this is above range- what can it mean? My albumin levels are 38g/l
A cmp blood test says albumin/globulin ratio is 2.6 (says normal range is 1-2.1). What is this ratio, and what do results mean? Should I be concerned?
I wouldn't worry: High albumin doesn't occur except in dehydration which also raises globulin, so your total globulin is a bit low overall. Chances are you're one of the folks who makes less in the way of antibodies than other folks, at least right now. This level's no danger to you. These investigations are seldom productive and if you feel well, I'd simply be thankful for good health and keep an eye on it.See 1 more doctor answer
My globulin is high its 3.7 while 3.5 is maximum but my protein and albumin are normal is blood test? Please tell is this something to worry about?
Any symptoms?: The difference between 3.7 and 3.5 is not clinically meaningful and if this is the only "abnormality" then you need not worry.
My albumin, globulin values came slightly off in blood test. Albumin: 5.1 gm/dl (normal 3.5-4.8) globulin: 2.1 gm/dl (normal 2.5-3.2) shd I worry?
How do you feel?: First thing to consider is dehydration. Next time you take the test, make sure you are well hydrated, even though you were asked to come fasting; that does not exclude drinking water. If you do not have symptoms, there is no need to worry.
Hemoglobin: No but this is relative to the test method. If she was tested in an office I would not worry. If a hospital lab test was done then look at the norm for her age.
Albumin 3.9 globulin 4.2 could this means multiple myeloma! Other blood test were within normal range?
Stop worrying: If you're otherwise feeling well, the chances of this being myeloma are remote. Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end.
My daughter (3 yrs old) had encephalitis. Blood test showed high gamma globulin level. What could be the reason for this?
Body's reaction: To the infection, not specific to the type of virus your daughter was exposed to.
My thyroid globulin blood test came back undetected after my thyroid was removed. I'm going for a lymph node biopsy will it be benign you think?
Hoping so: Many thyroid cancers do not make thyroglobulin. So there's no telling. If it's papillary carcinoma, its presence in the lymph nodes isn't that ominous.
Extremely fatigue ran blood test all in normal range except total protein 8.7, globulin slightly high, albumin boarder lined, is that why I'm tired?
Fatigue: You may have some type of chronic fatigue syndrome, and there are many possibilities. The blood test does not diagnosis the problem. You need to continue to see your doctor for more evaluations to determine the cause of your fatigue and treat you as necessary.
My globulin levels are elevated to a 4.2. All other things tested on my blood test were all normal. Can a high protein diet or stress cause it?
How do you feel?: Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. If you feel okay, I would not give this another thought.
Can a high protein diet cause a high globulin level on blood test? Also have iron level at 49the &i enlarged spleen. Advice?
WCC, platelets, neutrophils, monocytes, globulin, AST, ALT GGT & lactate dehydrogenase 2-3 times the high range in a blood test. Should I be concerned
Very: If all are more than double reference range, you need to be under the care of a competent hematologist who also knows general medicine.
Blood test results: low tibc= 233 ug/dl (range 250-450) normal iron=63 (range 35-155) what does this mean?
Not much: Iron is normal and TIBC is just off. No answers here.
I want to know what the initials stand for in a CBC blood test. I want to be able to read my blood test results but I don't know what the initials stand for. They have it printed out so that I know if I am high or low but I want to know what the initials
No stop it: In menopause dheas falls to low levels which are normal. Stop the dhea cream.
My husband just got blood test results back and he is a tiny bit low in protein something to do with albumin what can he do to increase it to what it?
FU with doctor: A low Albumin is not specific. It could be related to a wide range of illnesses or it could be transient and meaningless. Albumin is produced in the liver and can be low in cases of malnutrition, liver disease, kidney disease and other. Your best option to follow up with his physician. He has the whole picture. All the best!
I've got a low white cell count 2.5 can this be the cause of me feeling totally drained all the time? Thank you in advance (second blood test results)
Maybe: The keys are (1) your differential count; are absolute lymphocytes or absolute neutrohils very low? (2) do you have lupus or some other serious medical problems? I'm thinking of lupus as it can lower WBC's, make you feel horrible with nobody able to find why, and could account for your past pregnancy loss. Just my contribution. Best wishes. Stay proactive.
Carbon dioxide...: In copd, if you are unable to effectively breathe, your carbon dioxide level would be high. If your oxygen level is low, one compensation is to increase your ventilation, if possible, resulting in low carbon dioxide levels but higher oxygen levels. This usually is what happens earlier in the disease process.
