Low Gfr Normal Creatinine
I am told my Glomerular filtration Rate is 57.6. Does this indicate Kidney disease? Creatinine is 1.0 BUN is 20 total Protein is 7.0 I am 55 w/f
GFR: Your Estimated filtration rate is borderline. This is not a problem itself. The important concern is whether disease exists that might be progressive. Serum creatinine of 1.0 is "normal". So is serum creatinine 1.1. However, creatinine relates to muscle mass. If you are small muscled as a. 55 yo woman, then creatinine of 1.1 or 1.0 may indicate some minor impairment in its excretion. ...Read more
What would be a reason for high creatinine and low GFR for the last 6 work up. I had an ultrasound and it was normal.
Just had CMP. Creatinine was. 8, normal, but efgr 89. Isn't that low gfr? Also, a month ago, creatinine was. 7. Is this normal or problematic?
Kidney function: That GFR is normal and so is the CR. No problems with those results ...Read more
BUN of 10 with creatinine of 1.05 year ago BUN of 12 creatinine. 89. Now have low bun/creatine level and GFR of 58. Urine and all other lab's normal.
What kind of condition does the asian person have if creatinine is. 60 normal but GFR is less at 59 for 28 years old?
You're fine: Many other pathologists and nephrologists agree with me that the "estimated GFR's" are misleading and subscientific. The fact that there's an adjustment for black people "because black people are more muscular" suggests a misuse of data. Many people are being told they're sick when they're not. Your creatinine is perfectly fine and I would stop worrying unless there's something else concerning. ...Read more
I have Creatinine level of 1.2, normal BUN, GFR of 56, I'm 31, prolacton level of 82. Any suggestions?
31 white female, 1.2 creatinine level, normal BUN, 82 Prolaction level, 56 GFR should I be concerned?
Prolactin and kidney: Hi. Those are two unrelated conditions. Serum prolactin (PRL) can accumulate in chronic kidney disease (CKD), but your CKD is way too mild to cause that. Ergo, you have hyperprolactinemia. Do you have amenorrhea and galactorrhea? If not, the PRL may be a red herring, and macroprolactinemia should be tested for. Why you fall into the category of Stage 4 CKD is unknown to us. So, eval. PRL and CKD ...Read more
My GFR is 49 and my creatinine level is within normal levels at 12. Do I need a second opinion as my gp does not seem to be concerned.
Kidney Disease?: If your GFR was obtained by a 24 hour urine collection for creatinine clearance, you have stage 3 chronic kidney disease (ckd). You should be referred to a nephrologist (n), as at some point you will have some of the chemical abnormalities associated with ckd, these are anemia and elevation of your parathyroid hormone. You will also need to have a renal ultrasound to see the size of your kidneys. ...Read more
Why might I have a gfr reading of 78 and no albumin in my urine and normal creatinine levels in my urine? So it's unable to calculate an ACR.
High levels, not low: Levels, of albumin may be a marker for kidney problems. Your GFR is well within normal range. No albumin was detected in your urine. Urine ACR is the ratio between the concentration of albumin and creatinine in the urine. Since your urine albumin concentration is "zero", the ratio can't be calculated mathematically. The results of your tests are consistent with healthy kidneys. Dr. Anne. ...Read more
My creatinine level and bun are normal. My GFR is lower than last year (50). I am caucasian. Should I be concerned about kidney function? Thanks.
Change in creatinine level from 1.3 to 1.4 mg/dL (in less than a year) 34 yr male. GFR is 58. All other CMP test results are in normal range. Asked t?
BUN 26 high. CREATININE 1.59 high. GFR 54 low. Is My Kidney Fine? Dr. said that Blood work is Great!!! My age is 38.
Elevated creatinine: Creatinine of 1.59 is high. Are you dehydrated? Drink 2-3 liters water/ juice gatorade. Take supplements with creatine? Stop. Why are you on Plaquenil? Lupus? Other autoimmune? What is blood pressure? That affects kidneys. Why catherization? Did you recently have the cath or CT with contrast? Contrast can raise creatinine (CR). Smoke? Stop. Repeat Cr in 1 week and follow up with nephrology ...Read more
My creatinine level is 1.53 and GFR is 37. I have a 3 mm obstructing distal right ureteral calculus. Moderate to severe hydronephrosis. Is this normal?
No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, neither a GFR of 37, nor a ureteral calculus, nor hydronephrosis are normal. You ought to be under the care of a urologist. ...Read more
Serum Creatinine 1.6, Chloride 108, GFR 48. Would exercise move creatine levels out of normal? A week prior Creatinine 1.4 & Chloride 108. Concerns?
Here are some. ..: These reports alone represent your current attainable / acceptable, stable range for your body homeostasis. Kidney down briefly?: Both are a bit high for a man in his mid-40s especially if your bodybuilding days are over. Might you have been recovering from a subclinical bout of Ibuprofen nephropathy? Bun 16.Creatinine 1, 41 with GFR of 43. From >60 to 43 in 2 months. Sle. White female 53yo. Can anything cause a false low gfr? No previ kidney issues.
False low GFR: Yes. Some medications like Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) can temporarily increase your creatinine level which could falsely lower your gfr. Another is contrast dye for ct scan. It can temporarily raise your creatinine. But if it is not going back to normal after a few days it means there is contrast induced damage to the kidneys. Lupus is a good reason for kidney damage. ...Read more

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, you seem to have microcytic anemia, which may be due beta thalassemia trait and/or iron deficiency. Your neutrophil count is borderline low. It may be useful to consult a hematologist.

My glomerular filtration rate has been very high for years, urea is very low, creatinine is always around the lower range. Is this a renal problem?
No: EGFR (estimated GFR) is a number calculated from your serum creatinine and it is affected by the filtering function of your kidneys as well as other factors such as muscle mass. Low GFR (and high serum creatinine or urea) is a likely sign of abnormal filtering function of the kidneys. However, low serum creatinine does not indicate renal disease. ...Read more
