Low Creatinine High Glutamate And Seizures
Can glutamate sensitivity be genetic? Both myself and my children have problems with foods all high in glutamates. ..causing seizures,ADD,diarrhoea
Thanks for all the answers on Glutamate; I didn't mean MSG though, I meant Glutamate that your body produces, like the excitatory-chemical in your brain that can cause seizures. It seems like Glutamate is often ascribed some blame for tinnitus, hyperacus
And your question is: I have not seen the earlier answers so am not sure what your question is? ...Read more
If you did not need Dilantin for seizures wouldnt te levels be high all the time instead of low, I had 2 seizures 14 years ago and level always 3.4?
Complicated: Drugs used for seizure prevention are best used in sufficient dosages to put a patient into a therapeutic range to best protect against future seizures. Your level seems too low, but the medicine, nonetheless, is likely helping. Talk to your neurologist as to what should be done to optimize your treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My wife had a seizure, the only blood issues found were high neutrophil low lymphocyle and high monocyle shes 29 are these possibly indications.
No: seizure will be caused by a neurological event, some seizure could be caused by alteration in blood chemistry, some side effect to medication. you live in Florida,if it was a hot day and she spend a lot of time working and sweating, and not replacing the fluid appropriately, person could have a heat stroke ,and that can cause seizure. this only example,of how electrolyte imbalance can cause problems. ...Read more

What can cause constant migraines, mental issues now seizures. High platelets 2 yrs. Recent test platelets 565,000, monocytes 1.0, low MCH. Next step?
Discuss with doctor: The findings you describe are consistent with "essential thrombocytosis", a condition in which the bone marrow produces too many platelets. Cause is unknown; it may be genetic. The "next step" should be a discussion with the provider who will be taking that next step with you-- along of course with parent(s) or guardian(s). ...Read more

I have long standing hyponatremia, low chloride plus high TSH 12.8. I have been hospitalized mult times had seizure. Taking 10 1gr sodium. Fluid res?
FInd out why: I trust you are not taking a diuretic for some reason, and i trust you do not have inappropriate ADH (vasopressin) secretion due to porphyria or some other illness. Especially, i hope you don't have undiagnosed addison's disease especially with the high TSH (possible schmidt's). Have you been evaluated for one of the syndromes of renal sodium wasting? ...Read more
What does it mean if my BP goes as high as 171/94 and pulse 103 during a seizure? Why does the body react that way?
Adrenaline : During a seizure, just like any other significantly stressful situation, the body's fight or flight senses the stress & responds by releasing stored adrenaline into the circulations. By its direct stimulation on the heart and blood vessels, the rapid surge in this hormone causes a rise in BP & pulse. Other intertwined mechanisms are described but rapid rise in sympathetic tone is the main reason. ...Read more
What is a dissociative seizure? Is this related to anxiety so high it causes a seizure?? Is memory loss assiciated with this?
Dx of exclusion: Hi David, dissociative seizures are non-epileptic and can be caused by a number of factors (extreme anxiety being one possibility); they require careful evaluation to determine etiology and treatment. Amnesia is possible, but if the seizures are truly psychogenic, the loss is not due to nervous system damage, and should respond to appropriate treatment. Hope this is helpful. Take good care. ...Read more
My wife has undiagnosed seizures when she has high anxiety. When she takes welbutrin, they seem less aggressive and less frequent. Why is that?
Wellbutrin (bupropion): Stress can trigger seizures and should be treated. Paradoxically Wellbutrin can cause seizures by lowering her seizure threshold. She would do better to try a different approach to the anxiety reaction with perhaps Lexapro or Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride). These are SSRIs which can also lower seizure threshold but not to the degree Wellbutrin can ...Read more
