Does eating high fat but low carb foods make you lose weight but higher cholesterol levels or is ingested fats also stored as fat in our bodies?
Fat has calories: Fatty foods are packed with calories, twice the number of carbs or proteins for the same amount of food. So high fat is not going to help you lose weight just because you are avoiding starches and sugars (carbs). Your total calorie intake needs to go down and/or your exercise up to lose weight. Start reading labels with portion size and calorie content as well as the breakdown carb/protein/fats. ...Read more

Is taking high protein140g/day low carb <150g diet safe?140pd male doing strenuous workouts for health&vanity.
I believe most extreme diets are unhealthy and unwise and this is a good example. I advise limiting protein to about 70 grams a day. Higher amounts puts stress on the kidneys, can cause osteoporosis and may reduce longevity- esp. if the main source is animal protein. I believe it's not wise to limit all carbs- but it is wise to limit sugars and starches.

Is carb cycling (2 high carb day followed by 1 low carb day) long term safe for someone who is athletic and don't need to lose weight ?

If you are a long, term high intensity runner, triathlon, you need to have more calories (carbs) before hand to not burn up (or consume) your muscles as fuel instead of the carbs. If you just do mild exercising (nothing long distance), it will be safer. Moderation is key! ...Read more
