Low Blood Sugar Cause High Blood Pressure
Today, I had low blood sugar and high blood pressure at the same time. What could be the cause of that?
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hypertension can be a result of increased blood flow through vessels or increased resistance to ...Read more
Blood pressure: High blood pressure is often idiopathic meaning we don't have a reason for it. Cardiovascular disease renal disease and some endocrine diseases can cause it. Pain anxiety and medications such as various stimulants can raise BP as well. Low BP can be idiopathic or caused by cardiovascular disease endocrine disease anemia and dehydration.
Hypertension: BP meds can sometimes cause sexual problems. It is relatively uncommon but not rare, talk to your dr.
Could use your help docs! My creatine and bun is low in kidneys, may be caused by high blood pressure, what does this mean?
Kidney: When the kidneys are not functioning normally, the creatinine and BUN levels rise in the blood. They also can slowly rise a bit with aging. They are a rough indicator of the state of renal function.
Metabolic syndrome: Hi. Much as I hate the name "metabolic syndrome", it has stuck. It includes obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, a particular type of lipid abnormality, and higher risk of cardiovascular disease. It's not that the high sugar causes the high blood pressure (often the high blood pressure antedates the high blood sugar), but the underlying metabolic aberration (s) cause the whole picture.
Not directly: Carbonated beverages have been blamed for many health issues. However, there is no known direct cause and effect relationship between them and high blood pressure. Having said that, excessive intake will likely lead to weight gain and obesity increases your risk of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.
Yes: Anger and stress can increase BP temporarily, and chronic anxiety can do this long-term. Be worth seeing a licensed psychologist for advice on anger and stress. However, most people with high blood pressure also have a genetic background that means hypertension will not normalize with stress management. So drug therapy may well be needed too.
Gnc vita pack: Not known. No adequate data on its effect on bp.
High Blood pressure: Smoking, being overweight or obese lack of physical activity too much salt in the diet too much alcohol consumption (more than 1 to 2 drinks per day) stress older age genetics family history of high blood pressure chronic kidney disease adrenal and thyroid disorders essential hypertension.
Many problems: Obesity is a common cause, as is renal artery disease. Hormonal excess and glomerular disease can also be causes of high blood pressure. Kidney disease will cause it. In any case hypertension in a young person requires thoughtful examination and investigation of the patient by their phsician.
Generally no: Certainly no, if your dose is correct.
It should not: There are reports of Depakote causing high blood pressure in under 5% of people who take it. There are some smaller reports in about 2% of it causing low blood pressure. In general, there has been no significant reporting of bringing on high blood pressure when stopping it. The biggest concern is having seizures in those who were taking it for that reason.

The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood of a human or animal. The body naturally tightly regulates blood glucose levels as a part of metabolic homeostasis. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body's cells, and blood lipids (in the form of fats and oils) are primarily ...Read more
Blood pressure is a measurement of the force placed on the blood vessels and is comprised of the "systolic" pressure (the top number on a blood pressure meter) which is the peak pressure when the heart is pumping, and the "diastolic" pressure (the bottom number on a blood pressure meter) which is the pressure during the resting phase ...Read more
