Low carb, high prot.: A low carbohydrate/high protein diet is likely the best to help with these things. It does depend on the type of diabetes as type i needs Insulin and so more sugar/carbohydrate might be needed to avoid hypoglycemia, and type ii doesn't need Insulin and so less carbs may be needed.
