It depends: Know that it's normal for your blood pressure to decrease at night. But two things that matter to determine if this is worrisome, is how low is low and do you have any symptoms like lightheadedness, dizziness, and/or weakness when your blood pressure is "low". Many things: Could be a variety of things including but not limited to anxiety, anemia, hypothyroid, hyperthyroid, leukemia or lymphoma, migraine, the list goes on. Don't worry.: Blood pressure usually is lowest late evening and with early sleep. Paradoxically, it raises in the early morning (7am-10am). This is called arousal activation of the nervous system. Several things maybe: It could be anything from anxiety to nightmares to the thrill of having watched Peter Pan live on NBC the other night and realizing that two of the actors in the production were from Cleveland, Ohio (where I live). Or, it certainly could be a side effect of the topiramate if you have only been taking that medication for a few days or a few weeks and this started right after it. ...Read more
