How do I get ridd of the red spots on my feet after epilation? I use lotions for cracked skin but it doesn't work.
Dry skin: Solvents like water & soap make dry skin worse. While moisturizers help combat this, minimizing skin exposure to solvents & applying moisturizers immediately after any solvent exposure are key. A general rule of thumb is that thicker greasy products are more effective for dry skin... Ointments are better than creams are better than lotions. I have brittle skin and crack on one of my finger. I try with many type of lotion but problem still persist. What is your advise?
Seal in moisture: Use gentle soap like dove to wash. Use lotion/cream/ointment with ceramide like cerave, which acts like a tupperware lid, sealing the moisturize in your skin. You can put a 2nd layer of extra moisturizer over the cerave. Moisturize your hands and wear gloves at night. Drink 8-10 glasses of fluid a day. Take fish oil daily. Use liquid bandage on your skin splits. Hope this helps! ...Read more

There are many......: Onyx makes a good "cracked skin repair", O'keefe makes one..... Sometimes the cracks etc are from excessive water (on hand) sometimes a skin condition might be present which you would want to know about as sometimes a steroid cream may be needed, also, I would consider oral fish oil supplements which have good skin lubricating properties...ever see a seal with bad skin? ...Read more
I have very dry and cracked feet. Tried lotions and creams. Patches of skin are coming off making it painful to walk. Any suggestions?
Lotion often: This is very common. Callusing is a build up of dead skin. As the skin dries out, it shrinks. The tension on the skin, as it shrinks, causes the skin to split. This can split into live skin causing pain and at times, bleeding. Using a foot cream with urea can be quite helpful. The higher the urea content, the better. We use 40-50% urea in a cream. If not severe, use a good lotion daily. Dr l. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Maybe both: If there is an infection definitely us a antibiotic. If the toe is red and tender get a antibiotic pill. If it is not infected and just cracked you can have your podiatrist trim the margins down and lotion it - often with antibiotic cream and this will heal faster. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
