Beta blocker ( 5 mg bystolic) is causing lot of bad side effect. Would arb/hct or ACE be good replacement to treat coronary artery blockage.? Thanks.

Different: Ace/arb is a different class of drug than a beta blocker. Both are used in the treatment of coronary disease and are effevtive. You may need to lower the dose or try a different beta blocker if not done already. Check with your cardiologist. ...Read more

What are the side effects of benazepril?

What are the side effects of benazepril?

Common or serious?: First, let's remember that all drugs & dietary supplements have side effects. There's no such thing as a free lunch. With that in mind, then divide known side effects into common & serious (hopefully this list doesn't overlap!). For Benazepril & other ace inhibitors, a dry ticklish cough is a well known relatively common side effect. Of course, anaphylactic allergic reactions are always serious. ...Read more

Took 30mg of lotensin normally take 10mg am i ok?

Yes: You will be alright but it is important to be careful and make sure you are not too lightheaded or if you get up do it slowly as this can make your blood pressure drop. Otherwise you should do well but drink water and not be overactive. Check with your provider if there are any other symptoms or problems. I hope this helps. Be sure and take the dose that is prescribed. ...Read more

Can lotensin (benazepril) cause over sensitivity to heat?

News to me: I've never seen it. Would certainly be an extremely rare case if so. Just about any med can do anything to at least someone sometime. Having said that, I've never encountered your complaint in setting of lotensin (benazepril) therapy. Good luck, hope you successfully sort it out! ...Read more

Is alcohol okay with 25 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) once a day at night along with 5 mg of lotensin for high bp?

Is alcohol okay with 25 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) once a day at night along with 5 mg of lotensin for high bp?

Can't say online: Best bet is to ask the physician who is prescribing these meds for you. Zoloft (sertraline) is an antidepressant / anti-anxiety drug. Alcohol is a depressant. So... Generally i would say that having 1-2 alcoholic beverages weekly is probably fine on this regimen, but having several drinks at once is a bad idea... In the end, check with your doctor about the specifics and about how much you intend to drink. ...Read more

I take Norvasc 5mg and lotensin (benazepril) 20mg once a day, my blood pressure still run's high on the first number 150 over 84, why?

I take Norvasc 5mg and lotensin (benazepril) 20mg once a day, my blood pressure still run's high on the first number 150 over 84, why?

High BP on drugs: You need to discuss your BP drug regimen with your physician. You are on a low dose of norvasc, (amlodipine) the maximum dose is 10 mg/day, and may nned to be increased. If you have some edema, perhaps a diuretic is indicated to lower your bp. Speak to your physician (p) about your problem, as your p knows your medical history much better than anyone. Good luck. ...Read more
