Such weakness can have multiple etiologies from ...Read more

Pinched nerve: A pinched nerve can cause neck pain headaches, and pain or numbness running into the arm. There are other potential causes, however, and so it would be good to just get a regular check up to make sure it is nothing else. Physical therapy, chiropractic, and interventional pain management are the non operative treatments for it if it doesn't get better. Thank you. ...Read more

What can be done for neuropathy that is not caused by diabetes. There is no pain, just loss of feeling, leg strength and balance.

Many other causes: Search for an answer may be arduous. Emg can sort into categories and appropriate blood and urine studies be provide discovery. Need to classify by fibre size, and presence or absence of inflammation. If, in the end, no evidence of medication or toxin cause, may want to treat symptomatically with drugs such as Lyrica (pregabalin) or cymbalta, but would not hurt to try metanx twice daily for at least a year. ...Read more

I get random twitches in my shoulders should I be concerned? Plus I feel weak on my right side arm and leg but no loss of strength just worry some.

Reccomend seeing: Your doctor. This could be nothing, but would need physical exam and thorough history to rule out any issues. Again, this could be nothing but an irritated nerve, with one sided weakness I would want to rule out more serious issues like ms. Not likely that, but just to be cautious, consider having an MRI done. ...Read more

Weak leg n back muscle n loss of leg strength/tingling. Cant walk/stand for long. Is this sciatica? EMG normal. Have history of B12/D def. Now b12 is 250

Possibly: An emg/ncv test is not 100 percent sensitive for sciatica, so it could possibly be coming from the irritation of a nerve in the back causing symptoms in the leg ("sciatica"), but there are other potential causes as well. An MRI of the lumbar spine would show if there is any nerve impingement that correlates with your symptoms. Continue being seen for further work up. ...Read more

Call dr again: Two things come to mind- (1) You have an adverse drug reaction to Prilosec (stopping it for a few days would be justified) or (2) Your problem is not from acid reflux at all or it may just be a coincidence. Neither can account for the leg weakness since it started before you took Prilosec. Call you doctor again and get a referral if indicated. ...Read more

My Wife is experiencing leg numbness and constipation. The following also describe her: Numbness or tingling and Loss of strength. The hospital is releasing her with her left leg numb they did MRI AND CT scan. What do we need to check? Possibilities?

Check Medication lis: Multiple symptoms arising simultaneously argues against an anatomic problem that would've been detected by MRI or CT scan. Chances are that this is a medication side effect (from anesthesia?) or a neurologic condition. You can ask for electromyography / nerve conduction study (EMG / NCS) that may help determine cause of numbness / weakness. For constipation, laxatives should be tried. Use HT Prime ...Read more
