Follow advice: At age 22 I would follow your doctor 's advice and rest it for 2-3 wks. Could be many things but @ your age rest from the offending activity for a while is sound advice. Do more cardio workouts while your hand muscles recover from the overuse. If it becomes a persistent problem after a period of rest and a 'slow' return to wt. Lifting see pcp again.
