Should I be concerned if I have dizziness, loss of balance, feeling of fainting etc?

See a physician: Unfortunately, there are many conditions that can cause those symptoms, from very mild (like ear infections, sinus infections, etc.) to more serious. Balance and dizziness problems are often due to conditions in the inner ear, but not always. I would absolutely recommend seeing your physician. Best of luck to you! ...Read more

What causes loss of balance and dizziness? I have had laringitis for 3 weeks not on meds of any kind

What causes loss of balance and dizziness? I have had laringitis for 3 weeks not on meds of any kind

If: If the perception of movement is rotary or spinning, this is termed vertigo and is usually reflective of an inner ear problem. Given your recent history of laryngitis, I agree with dr. Fowler that this is probably viral in origin and typically self-limiting. If the vertigo is not associated with any hearing loss, this is usually from vestibular neuronitis (inflammation around the balance nerves near the brainstem). Normally, when the brain receives simultaneous and equal input from our balance organs (semicircular canals), the two signals cancel out and we don't perceive imbalance. When one of the inputs from one ear is firing at a different rate or intensity the the brain interprets the difference as asymmetry and we experience vertigo. Hope this didn't confuse you but it is a very complicated system. ...Read more

Really sleepy dizziness nausea mild S.O.B loss of balance took 15 0.5mg Lorazepam pills yesterday. Cause? Urgent Care? Htn pcos anxiety

Very dangerous: The cause of your symptoms is the 15 pills you took yesterday. That is a large quantity of a class of drug (benzodiazepine) that can kill you in large doses. Yellow vision with white, black and green patches floating around. Loss of balance and feel nauseous. Occured 5 times. Dizziness or lightheadedness?

Key question would: Be "occurred over what period of time. A day or two or weeks/months? " If just a day or two, I would suggest an inner ear inflammation called labarynthitis, often associated with an upper respiratory infection. If longer, perhaps benign positional vertigo, Most doctors don't differentiate between dizziness and lightheadedness; vertigo is spinning. The vision patches. floaters. Discuss all with Doc. ...Read more

I am on lisinopril since jan 2, 2013. I am currently feeling very dizzy, coughing, can not climb stairs due to loss of balance and feeling very tired. Could it be a side effect?

Cough on lisinopril: Cough is side effect of lisinopril. Normally, this cough is at night and is not seen with sputum. I would tell your doctor about this and he would probably tell you to stop that drug. If the cough goes away in two days, do not re-start it.
