Sudden loss of appetite. No other symptoms. Anxiety/depression has been under control for 3 years with 10mg Prozac (fluoxetine) rx. Could it be a new side effect?
Not likely: Nothing is impossible w/ side effects for psychotropics, but not likely. However, you might be ready to try to taper off Prozac (fluoxetine). I hate the idea of forever for a drug like that. If you've not done some therapy, you might want to try a bit to feel secure as you get off the meds. Best! ...Read more

Duration of action: Of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is about 6 hrs.; of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR, about 12 hours, with differences in metabolism & excretion of a given dose in each individual. Once a dose wears off each day, there's very little residual effect or side effect. No one has ADHD for only 6 hours/day. Some people structure their lives so they only need meds " on board" 6 hours/day. Delivery system, not strength, is what's different. ...Read more
Why is loss of appetite and upper stomach pain a serious side effect of Gralise and it says to call doctor as soon as possible?
Take with food: Since one of the main directions is to take this with a meal, it is implied that taking on an empty stomach can cause GI discomfort, and true to form, these can be serious. The gastrointestinal system in many ways can be affected by the nervous system, and upper GI pain can be a sign of overactive acid production, which can cause problems if unchecked. Report your discomfort to your doctor ...Read more

Can you die from anti anxiety Medication side effect its dangerous to take anti anxiety medication?
I have MDD and I have lost all sense of taste. Everything taste like Cardboard. Is this normal or is it a medication side effect?
Possible Nocebo: There was research that linked such medication (and others) to taste/smell impairment. It was before many new drugs were marketed. Also the conditions themselves have been linked to loss. But, whatever - you might be affected in part by the expectancy and that matters too. I'd imagine it possible that a switch to psychotherapy and perhaps a different drug is a good idea for you. Belief matters! ...Read more

Finished medrol (methylprednisolone) a day ago. On azythromycin feeling fatigue and loss of appetite. Normal side effects or either medications?
Not usually but: Medrol (methylprednisolone) tends to stimulate and increase appetite but azithromycin may upset your stomach to cause a loss in appetite. The fatigue however may be from a letdown from Medrol (methylprednisolone)'s stimulant effect. I presume that you had not been taking Medrol (methylprednisolone) for more than a week. If you had been taking Medrol (methylprednisolone) for months. Contact your doctor or go to ER immediately since this may represent a transient adrenal failure. ...Read more
