Fungus: Soaking the acrylic in alcohol would help to clean them , but if fungus is present on you (which is where it lives as a dermatophyte ) this won't help prevent infection. Nailing it: One thickened nail is more than likely due to some type of infection, although, trauma to the nail could be the cause. If all the nails are thickened I would think that the cause is more than likely some type of infection. Nails thickened due to trauma have little chance of resolving without intervention.
