Can cheek implants fix my fat cheeks? I recently lost seventy pounds and now look and feel great. I have noticed that my cheeks are still chubby, a problem that I have had my whole life. When I was overweight, they did not bother me, but now I want my che

Cheek: Cheek implants do not reduce the size of the cheek, if anything they enhance the appearance. Depending on the location and distribution of fat in your cheek, there are different procedures in which one may remove the excess fat in order to sculpt and contour the ceek to your desired appearance. One of the procedures used to sculpt and shape the cheek can be by liposuctino of the surface of the cheek if the fat is distributed closer to the ear or over the face. This procedure may be performed under local anesthetic and has only few days of downtime.
Aternatively if the lower cheek is involved buccal fat removal is a possibility where we make an incision on the inside of the mouth and remove the appropriate amount of fat without any scars. ...Read more

Well: Well its hard to give advice on this without seeing the problem but I can tellyou that what you are describing is not fixed by fillers or implants... In fact, implants and fillers will make your cheeks appear more full which sounds like exactly what you don't want... There are procedures that help define and sculpt the cheeks. None of them are risk free and all should be discussed with your facial plastic surgeon at length...

Hope this helps

Worried I have an unruptured aneurysm. I'm overweight and might have moderately raised BP, but otherwise healthy. Vision suddenly dimmed a couple times as if lights dimmed for a second. Also other visual anomalies and localized headache on back head?

I agree this is: Something that should be checked out, but an aneurysm is not high on my list. It could be a migraine variant, but dimming vision is not something you should ignore. You should see your Ophthalmologist as soon as possible, or talk with your primary care provider about seeing a Neurologist right away. I do believe imaging, probably MRI with contrast, will likely need to be done. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Should I go to the er, I have no health insurance? I am 24 years old and yes I am a little overweight and I smoke. For the past 3 days I have felt weak and very tired but I can't sleep. I'm dizzy most all the time but I get lightheaded when I turn my head

It's: It's been 4 days since you wrote in so if you're still feeling bad, yeah, it's best to get checked out. The big question, of course, is where? If you ever wonder whether you should go to the er, it's probably a good idea to go, assuming you have no family physician to contact. Certainly, you'll rarely hear from a physician online dissuading you from going. Too many unknowns in a stranger that we can't evaluate and would make us liable if we told you to stay home til the morning. The fact that you feel worse when you stand up w/your pulse increasing from 88 up to 104 suggests possible dehydration. Regardless, you need to get checked out.

The fact that you have no health insurance has no impact on the need to get medical attention. There are many low cost, even free, health care options for those without health insurance (possibly even without a job). So rather than wait for some anonymous doctor to reassure you, go back online and look for your options. Good luck! ...Read more

Had "sex" once, condom, only head went in, not pregnant. Last period was March 26. One before that was 3 wks late. Why so late? Stress? Overweight?

Some thoughts...: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc… Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. Pregnancy is the common cause of a missed period, if sexually active. ...Read more
