Generally these are self-limited and resolve in under 5-7 days. The daily frequency is also an issue. Be more specific in your question. Best.

Normal stool grades a 4 on the bss. On the other hand, "diarrhea" is defined by volume and stool frequency (typically more than 4-5 bowel movements/day). Colonoscopy: You have reached an age in which beginning routine colonoscopy every five years may be indicated. Discuss with your family doctor. The intermittant loose stools could be due to numerous issues, and would need more info and stool exam to tell whether further evaluation is indicated. See your doctor, and good luck.

Call your MD: There are different reasons that you can get white material in stool but almost always concerning. Please call your doctor and be seen to get evaluation asap. You probably can pick up a container from your md or lab to collect a stool sample asap, which will be a needed part of your evaluation.

Can a mutivitamin give you loose stools?

Can a mutivitamin give you loose stools?

Check ingredients...: If your multivitamin is high in magnesium, you're getting a laxative effect equivalent to taking milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide). Alternatively, some pill vehicles can cause loose stool, even if the pill ingredients do not. In any case, stop taking the supplement & if diarrhea persists, another cause must be sought.
