Variety of possible causes including lactose intolerance , gluten intolerance, crohn's disease or ulcerative colits, medication effect and malabsorption to name a few. Possible: It could be..But the stool with cdiff should be water period. In the hospitals, a formed stool will not even be processed. You need to have your doctor order a stool for cdiff toxin a/b, ova and parasites and culture. Otherorganisms such as campylobacter, yersinia, salmonella and shigella may also cause such symptoms. C.Diff: I think you should take the medication prescribed by your doc and expect improvement, however, it won't be sudden, so try to be patient. Not necessarily.: An infection with giardia can present with diarrhea or constipation or neither. Stool color is not a reliable way to determine the organism responsible, if any.
