Loose Stool After Food Poisoning Or Infection
Recently, I had two occasions where after eating beans I either had loose stools and/or vomiting. Is this an allergic reaction or food poisoning?
Aller allerg: The title wouldn't let me type in allergic. You are likely having an anaphylactic reaction to beans and need to avoid them. One need to rule out peanut allergy as well and you need to consider having epinephrine autoinjector at all times in case of accidental exposure to beans. Consult an allergist since you likely have nasal and/or respiratory allergies as well. ...Read more

It's possible, but..: Your limited information does not provide enough of a context for symptom onset, severity, or duration. Especially if distress persists, or is accompanied by bleeding, worsening pain, lightheadedness, or development of vomiting or fever, then get a good examination with appropriate testing for reassurance and/or treatment. Uncertain: The benefit, and the dose, and the effect of food, are all speculative. If you have persistent loose stools, swallowing some yeast is not likely to help. To correct the condition requires that you first define the cause. You will need professional help for that. Many episodes of loose stools are brief and self contained. If that occurs in your case, be grateful it is gone and do not experiment wit ...Read more

Eosinophilic?: Food impaction in the esophagus can result when there is a fixed narrowing (e.g. Congenital web, ring, peptic stricture, radiation damage, surgical anastomotic narrowing), inflammation, dysmotility (disordered peristalsis or sphincter problem, achalasia). Food poisoning: It kind of depends on 'what' the agent is that's causing the food poisoning, in order to best understand the symptoms and the course of the disease. For some food poisonings (like Staph aureus preformed toxin) you have vomiting within a few hours of eating the spoiled food. For others, like Salmonella, it may take about 18 hours or possibly longer for the bacteria to set up an infection. See doc! ...Read more
