Ergonomics: It sounds like a tough problem and it sounds like you've already looked into it some. With EDS hypermobility, you should pay extra attention to ergonomics when you're working. For example no staring down at laptops (you should be looking straight ahead so as not to put stress on your neck). Massage is a good idea. Also seeing a physical therapist might help. ...Read more

Hard to tell: Neck pain and joint pain is just as common in eds as in many other non-eds causes. As far as joint surgeries go, I am not sure what kind of surgeries you had and for what reason. Definitely, eds patients have multiple joint problems (hypermobility, fractures, laxaty etc.) that makes them prone to trauma etc. ...Read more

You'll know: Pain in the chest wall that is worse when you move or push on the chest wall is minor. You've got Ehlers-Danlos and can expect some nuisance discomfort like this. Pain that should bring you to the emergency room is obviously not normal pain and you'll know if it happens to you. ...Read more
