Wondering if it's normal for the upper lateral incisors to show before the upper central incisors?
Not normal: Don't wait...See a growth and development specialist, an orthodontist, now. Upper centrals are supposed to erupt 6-12 months before laterals. If laterals erupt first they migrate toward the central incisor areas and further block eruption of the centrals. The timing and location of eruption of permanent teeth is exquisitely important. Waiting can worsen the problem. Go now for evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Broke jaw have nerve damage to the inferior alveolar nerve bout 9 weeks ago most of numbnes gone but lip and chin tightness remain , how much longer?
Depends: Depends on the severity of the injury. In this case sounds like shearing or crush injury but sometimes if it's stretch with no damage to the axon it may recover quickly. Otherwise, human axon growth rates are 1 mm/day in small nerves and 5 mm/day in large nerves. If there is no way the nerve would reconnect then maybe permanent but best to check with a maxillofacial surgeon. Best of luck! ...Read more

Have habit pulling upper lip over some of bottom lip and keeping it there to make my bottom lip look smaller. Feel this exerts pressure on upper teeth/maxilla could this lead to resorption of maxilla?
No: Your habit should not cause resorption of teeth or maxilla. The one exception would be if you had an insufficient band of attached gingiva with a frenum pull which would cause gum recession and possibly loss of tooth over time. Perhaps something can be done with orthodontia to improve your facial appearance so that you no longer have to engage in that habit. Why not go for a consult to find out? ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

When our mouth is closed from uvula till epiglottis does our upper palate touches the lower palate or any skin of upper palate touches the lower palat?
Varies: Since people have sometimes quite variable anatomy, an index called the Mallampati score helps quantify pharygeal space. A rating of class III or IV is predictive of difficulty being intubated as well as tendency for sleep apnea. The lower classes probably will not contribute as much to airway occlusion but the higher classes suggest vigilance for issues relating to the airway being blocked. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Waxing Effects: You ask a good question. While waxing is a very popular method of hair removal, there is not much discussion of the potential side effects of repeated waxing over time. While waxing is generally considered safe and effective, it may result in repeated skin trauma in the form of minor burns and peeling of the outer skin layer. This can result in thickening of the skin and cause fine lines. ...Read more

I was recently had an accident on my bilke and skinned my upper lip, how long can it take to regrow the hair? If it does regrow.
Not long, but...: Depending on the severity of the injury, hair should not take long to regrow. It should start growing out in a few days for mild scrapes, and a week or so for moderate scrapes. If the scrape is pretty severe, the damage at the time of injury, the inflammation afterwards, and the whole healing process, might be to much for the little hair follicles... In which case the hair won't return. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I waxed my upper lip and at first it was just red like normal. But now it's dark, very dry, and peeling. How long will it take to heal? What should i do
Depends: It depends on how deep the injury is and how dark your skin color is. Skin discoloration/darkening after an injury or inflammatory event can take as short as a week to as long as over a year to resolve. The worse the injury & the darker the skin, the higher the potential for prolonged discoloration. Keeping it protected from the sun and applying an ointment-based moisturizer (e.g. Vaseline) helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have a deep cut above my upper lip on the outside and inside. No stitches were required. How long will my lip be swollen? Can i clean it with water
Deep lip cut: Whether stitches are 'required' is a matter of surgical opinion. Any deep cut on both the inside and outside of a lip which are in the same area must be assumed to be 'through and through' and therefore must be carefully evaluated--and likely closed with stitches. There is a misconception that 'stitches' are somehow bad and that 'avoidance' of them is best. This is bad reasoning. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
