Underlying cause?: The biggest issue when a baby has a urinary tract infection is to determine whether he has an underlying reason for the infection. Normal ultrasound imaging is reassuring. My other recommendation is to be alert for a recurrence. If this would happen other studies would need to be done to rule out reflux problems from the bladder to the ureter.
