Long Term Effects Of Bupropion
Officially, none: No warnings about long-term use of wellbutrin (bupropion) have been issued. But, you have to realize that its makeup is similar to amphetamine, and is dopamine-enhancing. It can cause jitteriness, twitching, and seizures even in short-term. It can be difficult to wean from, because of irritability and anger -- not unlike nicotine withdrawal for which it is used (as zyban). Ongoing need should be reviewed. Not clear: There is conflicting data regarding use of antidepressants later in life and all cause mortality although there is the notion that the medications are relatively benign. There is always going to be a risk benefit analysis that is necessary in addition to the number needed to treat or a number needed to harm with any medication reflecting the capacity to do both good and bad things to patients. I just started on 100mg of wellbutrin (bupropion) for 5 days then up to 300mg. How long before I feel the effects?
How long does it take to feel the effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion)? I've been on it for 5 weeks and still feeling down.
Bupropion is an antidepressant that works primarily by increasing dopamine.
If you have had absolutely no improvement in your depression, you may be on too low of a dose, or this may just be a medication that doesn't work for you.
Also make sure you have the right diagnosis.
Do NOT discontinue this without consulting your psychiatrist, but I would bring this up with him/her. Read more
What are my chances of becoming more social and confident by taking Bupropion with Abilify (aripiprazole)? How long to see the effects?
Indirect: Certainly thse medicines were not designed to increase one's social skills and confidence. They are effective more often than placebo for the treatment of depression, and in the case of Abilify, (aripiprazole) also for bipolar disorder and some thought disorders. Psychotherapy is often helpful in working on more longstanding issues such as confidence and social anxiety. Good luck Read more

I'm changing my medication from Effexor (venlafaxine) 300mgs to wellbutrin 150mgs. How long before I notice a change in my mood?
Many Variables: When switching from one antidepressant to another it is difficult to predict how quickly the new medication will take effect. Generally one expects an antidepressant to begin to work after two weeks with the maximum benefit at six weeks. One should taper slowly off Effexor (venlafaxine) due to discontinuation symptoms. These would include anxiety and flu-like aches and pains. Work closely with your md. Read more
I took wellbutrin for 2days 1xa day 150mg its making worse how long till out of system and can try something else want to try inderal.
If you were only taking wellbutrin for 2 days just to be safe I'd wait 3-5 days before starting inderal under your PCP direction naturally, but usually 2 days of a med like wellbutrin would have minimal adverse effects if any stopping it abruptly as you have done.
having said that any med changes should be closely monitored by you primary care provider. Read more
