Lo Loestrin Fe Period Start
I take Lo Loestrin Fe and my period has started early, I only just took the first pill in the last row, normal?
Not concerning: If you are on the last week of your pills, then it is normal for your period to start at this time. If you have break through bleeding (bleeding between periods), or if your periods begin earlier with each pack of pills, you may need to change to a different type of birth control pills. ...Read more
Took first pill of Lo Loestrin FE an hour late, still protected? Took all last pack as directed and got period at the end of last pack
Sounds fine: There is no noticeable difference in the level of protection whether a woman takes her Lo Loestrin at the exact clock hour each day, or takes her pill an hour sooner or an hour later. Lo Loestrin is a combination birth control pill. Combination pills are less time-sensitive than progestin-only mini-pills. For a combination pill, taking it within 2-3 hours of the desired time should still be fine. ...Read more

I started my period last friday. And the first day I started taking lo loestrin fe. The first two days light. Now very heavy is this normal?
Not uncommon: Your are taking a very low dose of estrogen in your lo loestrin fe. This is 10mcg compared to 35mcg per tab in other "full strength" bc pills. The low dose is less risk of complications, but if your body is used to a higher dose made by your own ovaries, then your uterus is bleeding because it is responding to the low dose, therefor menstrual time. Taking 2/day until stops may help this time. ...Read more
Totally normal: Assuming you have not missed any pills and could be pregnant, but with loloestrin the low dose of the hormone can make you miss your periods which is fine and great choice at your age as u should be on the lowest dose combo pill which is loloestrin and if u do not want any more children an in office essure tubal is the way to go, easy, takes 5 minutes my pts are awake, covered by insurance. ...Read more
Take a test: One of the best things about Lo Loestrin FE is that you do not get periods or if you do they are very light. This makes it a popular pill. If you are taking it everyday and not forgetting it then you can rely on it for effective contraception. If you aren't good at remembering it then you will have to take a pregnancy test BUT you should also choose a different easier method like an lUD ...Read more

Had some light bleeding for about 4 days on lo loestrin fe. Is that normal? Second month, no period first month
Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working. ...Read more

25 years old and on the last four pills of lo loestrin fe. Have had my period for 13 days. When will it stop or how can I stop it?
Not normal, see Dr.: Generally, if you are taking your pills every day, your natural hormones are blocked. The last week of pills has no hormones, which triggers a period. If you started bleeding in the middle of your pills, the dosage may need to be adjusted to be right for your body. Stop your pills, use precautions to avoid pregnancy (foam & condoms), and see your gynecologist. Good luck! ...Read more

Is it common to not have periods on lo loestrin fe 1/10? I've been on it 2 months and haven't had my period yet. Took 4 tests but all were negative.
Menses and OCP: If you are not pregnant, given your age if you are an athlete or physically fit, this is certainly a possibility. While not necessarily common it certain can happen. Note that skipping the last seven pills of 28 day pack and moving on to next pack can also produce this effect. Some companies actually market bcp that are designed for a period only every three months. I would not worry yet. ...Read more

I have been on lo loestrin fe for over a month and just finished my period. My boyfriend came inside me should I take the day after pill?
Not if took pills: If you took all of your months birth control pills an didn't miss a day, there's no reason to take a morning after pill. If you just finished your period, you are on day 5 or so of your new pack? You can definitely get pregnant during the week of your menstruation, so just the fact of bleeding doesn't protect you from pregnancy. If you've missed pills, definitely take morning after pill asap! ...Read more

Prob from the change: Very common for that to happen the 1st month when you switch to a less strong pill, as long as it is not heavy hopefully should go away by the next pack, but your doctor should have told you to possibly expect that when the doc put u on the lolo that is one of the things I always tell my pts, you are on a much better and safer pill now. ...Read more
