Shouldn't: Cirrhosis causes splenomegaly through portal hypertension and splenic congestion; a mildly fatty liver should be well before this stage, and should not be the cause of a painful enlarged spleen. You should see a doctor for further evaluation and testing. ...Read more

Maybe: Multiple causes of elevated bilirubin. Liver inflammation, hepatitis, acquired gilbert's syndrome, postoperative status, etc. Should not remove a gallbladder without stones only for a blood test finding, which hopefully was not your situation. ...Read more
