MANY THINGS: What test do you mean by "liver count"??????? The most common tests are enzymes and high levels are most commonly associated with medications/alcohol but other numbers indicate possible obstructive issues (pancreas/ gallbladder) More info for more direct answer! If : If your liver enzymes are elevated due to the simvastatin, and you have been off of it for 8 weeks then your doctor should expect a decrease. The numbers may not be normal yet but they should be trending down. If they have not changed, then other things need to be ruled out, hepatitis or high triglycerides for example. Your doctor may also want to order an ultrasound of your liver to look for changes such as fatty liver which may contribute to elevated liver enzymes. Best of luck. ...Read more

Liver and Alcohol: This is very consistent to the damage that can be done by alcohol and how the liver can bounce back. But, abusing your liver again makes me wonder how many times you will get away with experimenting with it's health. No: The absolute monocyte count seldom tells us much in isolation. If by "low iron" you mean a low serum iron, you need it interpreted; if by "low iron" you mean a low hemoglobin / hematocrit, you are anemic and this is serious.
