Nose bleeds: I'm going to resume that your 'friend' is near to your age. Even if they are twice as old I would think cancer is NOT the most likely diagnosis. The most benign possibility is friable nasal tissue that bleeds chronically (and he could cough that as well). More seriously, they may have abnormal blood coagulation for many reasons. Unlikely: To be clear, yes, nosebleeds are a potential sign of cancer, but rare in a child that age and with other more likely cause. Flonase can easily dry out the lining of the nasal passages - this is a common side effect. Allergies can also do this. It is important to keep the nasal passages moist. Many have swabbed Vaseline in the nasal passages with a Q-tip or used nasal saline with great results. ...Read more
