Survival depends: Survival from any disease is difficult to predict. Important factors include the disease, patient age, baseline health status, and quality of medical care. Some patients can live for many years with liver and kidney disease. However, chronic liver disease (cirrhosis) is terminal and will lead to death. Use internet to calculate meld score - the closer you get to score 40, the higher risk of death. ...Read more

Possible for very small benign liver and kidney cysts to have grown over the course of a year and a half??
Since you know you have them, I assume you have had an ultrasound or CT scan.
Yes they could have gotten bigger or even multiplied.

Does xenical destroy liver and kidney? Or will it just destroy the kidney if you are overdosing yourself with this drug
Xenical: First, xenical can cause hepatitis and elevated liver enzymes, as well as liver failure and necrosis. I have not read of kidney destruction. Still, if tempted to overdose on it or anything else, please talk to your doctor, call 911, or go to an er for urgent help. Xenical can also cause you to lose fat-soluble vitamins such as vit. D -- which can exacerbate depression. ...Read more
What else can cause high ammonia levels besides liver and kidney functions? I need someone to help me. No one can tell me what is going on.
Healthy diet, many: The best foods for your liver ; kidneys are organic fruits ; vegetables. Avoid fried foods, genetically modified foods ; limit sugars ; starches. Also avoid too much protein. All vitamins are necessary, esp. For your liver- it's best to get from diet but a quality multivitamin ; 5-8000 iu of d3 is reasonable. Acetaminophen causes liver damage- limit use ; take nac with it. See http://bit. Ly/19xax7e. ...Read more

Could you tell me what happens if a person forgets to take his medication after a liver and kidney transplant?
Rejection risk: Unless the txps came from an identical twin or clone, they are genetically different from you. Your immune system is tricked into ignoring their presence by meds prescribed to prevent rejection. Not taking a med, lets the drug level drop, and the portion of the immune response that should be blocked, to begin functioning. Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is mult. Doses, call your md. ...Read more
Magnesium creatine chelate how dangerous is it on liver and kidney on the long run? I'm taking 1000mg of it everyday before work out. Started 2days ago
Of course not: It tastes good, though. There are several sites promoting it as a 'miracle food' that are so silly that I think they must have been written as parodies or practical jokes. ('if we don't break down our water molecules to smaller sizes...') if you actually have some concerns about your liver and/or kidneys (perhaps some abnormal labs), your best guide is your physician. ...Read more

My sgpt is 73 and ggtp is 93. Rest is all normal on liver and kidney function test. Please suggest?
Abnormal liver tests: These two tests are often tests of liver function. When they are found to be abnormal, the most important thing is to avoid alcohol and to have them retested in a month or two to see if they are still elevated. If they are, then you will need further blood testing and maybe an ultrasound of the liver as a starting point to diagnosing the problem. Good luck. ...Read more

Is fentanyl dangerous for liver and kidney I used codeine before which of these is best for the liver and kidneys?
Used as prescribed,: Both should be relatively safe for healthy liver and kidneys. To exert it's action, codeine needs to be converted into morphine by the liver, fentanyl acts directly. Biodegradation and elimination of both can be impaired in presence of significant liver and kidney disease, but they shouldn't by themselves be the cause of it. ...Read more

Can taking Percocet for back pain cause liver and kidney damage? Been taking for almost a year. Less than prescribed but at least one a day.
Highly unlikely: The oxycodone is Percocet is not the cause of the problem - it is the tylenol (acetaminophen). One tablet contains 325 mg of tylenol, and that is not enough, even daily, to cause harm in someone who is otherwise healthy and not on other medications or substances (like alcohol in excess) that can damage liver or kidney. Look into non-opiate ways to treat pain:physical therapy, weight loss, exercise. ...Read more
