Dilation of bile ducts in the liver can be from gallstones or a bile duct blockage, and that same blockage could also cause distension of the gallbladder. Not necessarily: You have mildly elevated liver enzymes with no apparent structural changes. The workup should continue with thorough review of your diet, etoh, supplements, comorbidities and OTC/ prescribed meds. Also a hepatitis panel should help in finding the reason for your mildly elevated liver enzymes.
