Little toe pain?

Little toe pain?

Location of pain: Would be helpful. Often, if on the outside it is caused by a hammertoe, which will leave you with a corn or little area of inflammation known as a bursitis. If on the inside, you can have a soft corn caused by the 5th toe rubbing against the 4th. If you banged it in the middle of the night going to the bathroom you may have fractured it. A foot doc can help no matter the cause. ...Read more

Little toe - pain anytime i wear shoes(sneakers, etc.) hard skin (corn) but pain all the time unless I am not wearing shoes. What can be done?

Avoid pressure to it: This is very common. The little toe is rubbing the side/end of the shoe and becomes sore. There can be a callous or corn and sometimes a pad will help. Sometimes there is a underlying bone spur to the area and surgery can remove it. Sometimes just changing the shoe choice will resolve the problem. If the pad and shoe choice do not help see a podiatrist. ...Read more

Feel a tendon or something moving side to side in base of big toe. Pain and sometimes burning sensation when walking was after slamming side of foot?

Walk this Way.: There are quite a few structures that have the ability to move side to side, associated with the base of the big toe. A slamming injury could injure any one or more of them effecting the stability of the toe and toe joint. Pain and burning are the body's way of letting you know this. It is best to have the toe examined and possibly x-rayed to remove all doubt. ...Read more

Pushin too hard...: It sounds like you have irritated a small nerve that runs just under the foot, supplying the little toe. When you apply pressure to the irritated nerve, it responds with pain. The fat pad below may have be irritated also. The area needs to calm down. Avoid excessive pressure to the area and try some Motrin type anti-inflammatory medications.
