I had a molar extracted a week ago I've been rinsing with salt water when can I start using Listerine?
Antiseptic: Listerine works based on the 'essential oils' it contains. These essential oils act as an antiseptic to kill off the bacteria in the mouth that cause tooth decay and gum disease. Toothpaste will not whiten teeth. Whitestrips will whiten the parts of the teeth they touch, but not in between or near the gumline.
If you want to whiten your teeth, see your dentist and follow his recommendations for tray whitening and/or in-office whitening.

But I think what you're doing is fine I wouldn't worry about it! ...Read more
No: I presume you mean is it damaging to the bacteria that break down the waste in the septic tank. No, not unless you are spilling several gallons of it down the drain each day. It depends: The formula of listerine and alcohol free listerine are different. The regular listerine has the essential oils that have been proven to kill oral bacteria, and carries the ada seal.
