Elevated ammonia: will need to be brought down to below 76 (1.5 x upper limit of normal) This can be achieved with lactulose and neomycin or similar treatment. Recovery of consciousness will hopefully occur soon. The physicians treating the person should be able to give an assessment of possible recovery based on the information obtained from brain scans. Help: These post stroke problems are not at all unusual. For help I would emphasize stress management techniques and avoidance of sleeping pills, tranquilizers and alcohol. Working with a psychologist or psychiatrist is worthwhile. Is full recovery possible in ischemic stroke? To what extend recovery can be done in this case? ( answer in %)
Possible: If it is a small ischemic stroke then full recovery is possible. Unless your are left handed, it would be unusual to have aphasia from a right brain stroke. If you mean right sided weakness that would be more typical. I would need to see the MRI to give you a % of possible recovery that would be possible but certainly improvement from your current condition is a possibility. ...Read more
I have seen it : Now, don't carve in stone, but I have seen amazing recoveries over a 4-6 month period of time in cases of hemiparesis, where i felt there was no hope.
