No.: Fruit, like all food, gets broken down by digestive enzymes, and the nutrients are absorbed. Some of the sugars such as sorbitol and fructose are not well digested by humans, and some soluble fruit fibers also. These work as natural laxatives and are good for us. Avoid sour juices: Acid tases sour, thus the more sour the juice the higher the acidity. So, if you have trouble with reflux/acidity problem, avoid sour juices/foods. What's the benefit of consuming complex carbohydrates (grains mostly) over simple carbohydrates (fruits, veggies)?
You got it backwards: Fruits and veggies are NOT simple carbohydrates! Simple carbohydrates are sugars and foods that easily break down into sugars,such as white flour,white rice, potatoes and juices.These readily raise our blood sugar, which is unhealthy.Complex carbohydrates are found in whole grains,most vegetables and fruits and generally contain fiber. Absolutely!: Milk and water are the only fluids kids need to drink. Juice, soda, sugared drinks of any type only introduce empty calories. "no sugar added" fruit juice is a food industry trick because all juices have their own sugars. 8 oz of orange juice has the equivalent of nearly 8 tsp of sugar! a 12 oz soda has nearly 10 tsp of sugar. VERY UNHEALTY but...: Regular and diet sodas are incredibly unhealthy & are best totally avoided. Good up to a point: Fruits are natural foods and are good, up to a point. Beyond that point, the sugars and starches in fruits will cause undesirably high blood sugars. One can study the websites on diabetic diets and make a list of all the foods he likes. He has to rank them according to how much or how likely they are to raise his blood sugar. So far as i can tell: there is no current good evidence sweeteners cause cancer, but there are a handful of people who do not tolerate these fake sugars.
