List Of Medicines To Stop Gutkha Chewing
What are some medications or treatments w/o life threatening side effects that can help someone stop smoking? Other than the e-cig and nicotine gum.
Hypnotherapy: Hypnotherapy can break tobacco habits. It can make the use of the tobacco product aversive - even disgusting. That can cause social problems if those near you smoke, but it can work without that extreme an effect too. Here's a hint: the breathing pattern of smokers is actually good to continue - without the cigarette. It is good for you and stopping that is part for what makes it feel so bad. Best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

About to begin ssri treatment. Are there certain things somebody can do to lessen the chance of side effects? Like eating healthy, exercise, or...?
Unfortunately NO: There is no study I'm aware of that has ever shown a reduction in the RISK of suffering side effects from SSRI's simply based upon health lifestyle choices and living. Side effects occur because of the body's reactions to chemical substances which USUALLY don't occur (that's why they're called side effects) or can be major. But by all means DO all those things you mention. THEY'RE GOOD FOR YOU.. ...Read more
Sensitive tooth.Would like to eliminate it by taking proper care of tooth instead of medicines. My eating habits are culprits?I eat lot of sweets.
That's great: It's great that you want to take good care of your teeth. If you eat a lot of sweets & have sensitive teeth, you may have cavities. Step one would be to see your dentist for a thorough exam & x-rays to start off on the right track and make sure all your teeth & gums are healthy. I love sweets too but have to limit the amount & type, along with proper brushing & flossing to maintain a healthy mouth. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Are there any p450 enzymes that act upon things like acetaminophen and nsaids? I'm really into pharmacology and pharmicokinetics.. And take them.
Yes: Cytochrome p450 metabolism accounts for about 5% of the breakdown of acetaminophen, and produces the toxic compound napqi that is responsible for its toxic effect on the liver. Nsaids are hydroxylated by 2c8 & 2c9 in the liver as one of several paths before conversion to the glucuronide & excretion in the urine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Son (ASD) fear of chocking has caused him to stop eating solid food. Prescribed Respiradone & not working. Any other medication recom. that may help?
Rule out dental: There are other atypical antipsychotics to try like Abilify (aripiprazole) and Seroquel. Treatments for anxiety disorders like zoloft may also help. Has a psychiatrist evaluated him and recommended psychotherapy? I don't know how severe his ASD is, some are mild. Is there a reason he might be afraid of choking? Can he talk and tell you he is afraid of choking? If not, perhaps he has tooth decay causing pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can smoking marijuana and taking paroxetine simultaneously stop your heart, or in any way effect your heart? Read some study...
MJ increases Paxil (paroxetine): My understanding is it would be unlikely for combination of Paxil (paroxetine) ; marijuana to cause a normal heart to stop, but rapid heart rate (occasional effect of paxil) might be more likely due to marijuana inhibition of the liver enzyme that metabolizes paxil, thus causing an increased level of Paxil and a concomitant increase in all effects from paxil. Would discuss with Paxil prescriber. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm 5 months clean of all illegal drugs and alcohol, the med i'm on to help me stay clean is causing high liver enzymes what else is there to help me?
What med?: I'm not sure what medication you're referring to, to help you stay clean. Seroquel (quetiapine) is an antipsychotic but doesn't interrupt drug or alcohol craving. If there's something else you haven't mentioned, please share this when re-asking your question and we can try again. Depending on how severely you drank and used drugs, your liver enzymes could still be elevated from that. ...Read more
