Fluid and fiber: Foods high in fat tend to constipate you. Foods high in fiber favor looser stools. Fruits vegetable, whole grains are excellent sources of fiber. Also, fiber only works if u are well hydrated. Drink plenty of non-caffinated, non-alcoholic fluids to keep stools soft. Fiber can also be added to a glass of water. Yes ...: In general, we believe higher fiber foods provide a better substrate for the formation of feces. High-fiber (read the label!) cereal, especially containing bran, is a good choice. Also beans, high fiber/whole grain bread, dried fruit, berries, nuts, plums/pears, apples, broccoli. Lots of water and exercise also help.
