Yes: Hopefully this resolves in 30 minutes or so. It may even slow some in 10. Some folk experience even higher heart rates during an attack, and do not incur permanent damage, so don't worry about that. However, CBT therapy can offer a chance to learn skills to avoid, reduce and manage stress, anxiety and panic. It can be a good investment in your quality of life. Best! ...Read more

I read on the internet that caffeine can trigger panic attacks, is this true? Also what is the best way to cut out caffeinated drinks?

If you are caffeine: Sensitive, then it is possible for caffeine to trigger a panic attack. It is not however very common at the usual doses that people drink. If however you also have generalized anxiety disorder which is a condition of chronic worry about the future and where you do a lot of "what if" thinking, then the caffeine can raise the level of generalized anxiety disorder to a point where it would eventually cross a threshold and panic sets in. That is the most common scenario that i see clinically.Since stopping caffeine suddenly can cause quite miserable headaches that last for approximately one week, i usually recommend that people cut down on the caffeine gradually by eliminating one drink every three or four days until gone.Best wishes and i hope this helps. ...Read more
