What amount potassium can I have while on lisinopril/hctz?

What amount potassium can I have while on lisinopril/hctz?

Potassium and hctz (hydrochlorothiazide): Lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide (L) decreases levels of serum magnesium (M) by increasing the elimination of the drug through the kidney. This will lead to low levels of potassium (K), which will not be corrected until M is repleted. HCTZ is not as potent as a loop diuretic, furosemide, for wasting K. Speak to your physician (P) to see what your P says, as your P can answer you best of all. ...Read more

Would low potassium cause more than just a cramp/charlie horse in one leg? On nexoum for 8 days and on lisinopril 10mg n hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) 12.5. Should I worry?

Get potassium measur: Low potassium doesn't cause muscle cramps - it can cause tetany and, in extremely low levels, it can cause muscle weakness (called "periodic paralysis"). I suggest you have your potassium measured and then supplement it if it's low. Low potassium is a common cause of cardiac arrhythmias. ...Read more

I was taking lisinipril with the water pill, but my potassium got too low and he took the water pill away. Now im retaining water feet swoll, now what?

Retaining edema: You need to speak to your doctor about your water retention. Diuretics waste not only potassium (k) in your urine, they also waste magnesium (m). The reason why your k was low could be due to your having a low m as well. You could go back on your diuretic and take supplement k. If your m was low, you may also need m supplements. Retention of fluid is a dangerous thing. Speak to your physician asap. ...Read more

Does medical marijuana, with high cannabidiol and low THC content, have negative interactions with lisinopril, hydrochlorothiazide, and a pacemaker that performs 87% of an elderly person's heart beat?

2 difficulties with: This question. Pacemakers do not "perform" heart beats. They only emit tiny electrical shocks to heart muscle when heart contraction not electrically detected within time limit set in pacemaker programming. Electronic pacemaker initiated heart beats are always weaker because less well coordinated. No clinical research trial data exists to answer 1st questions; though zero basis to believe healthy. ...Read more

Interaction Risk Etc: Multiple interactions possible and though the side effects are usually mild they can become severe. Risks include Serotonin Syndrome (see Wikipedia), fluid accumulation, and even seizures.
Your combination of activating, antidepressant, and sedating/tranquilizing meds is worth a close review. For e.g. clonazepam 3 mg daily is quite high in combo with the others.
In psychotherapy too hopefully? ...Read more
