Is it safe to take Robitussin Cough + Chest Congestion DM while on Lexapro, (escitalopram) Synthroid, Zyrtec, Dymista Nasal Spray & Albuterol nebulizer?
Many meds: At your age (or anyone else for that matter) taking five medicines and wanting another one is not smart unless your doctor has told what medical problems you have. Having said that, if your doctor did prescribe those meds, over time the meds should be reduced. Please let me know what develops. ...Read more
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Can I take clonazepam with cough medicine? (dextromethorphan hbr with chlorpheniramine maleate) aka Coricidin high blood pressure cough and cold?
No cough medicine: The best medicine for cough is the medicine that treats the reason you are coughing. If your cough is due to asthma you need to treat asthma. If its due to reflux treat the reflux. If its due to pneumonia, bronchitis or sinusitis then treat the infection. I do not like treating symptoms unless i know the cause. If you have a persistent cough you need to see your doctor. ...Read more

Non specific: Not sure what the question really is, but if you are talking about upper respiratory tract or head cold symptoms due to infection versus if they are do to allergies, allergic symptoms tend to occur with exposure to kn own or suspected triggers, would not have fever, or sore throat, infections would be more likely to have fever, sore throat, no clear allergic exposure etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Robitussin (guaifenesin): The Robitussin people make a great line of products. They very clearly spell out what is in each cough syrup. Can't do this online: Doctors can't legally prescribe medications w/o first establishing a patient-physician relationship which requires a (physical) exam. Just answering a few questions online isn't typically considered sufficient. There should be plenty of physicians close by to you to provide you the care you need. There are also many low cost, even free, options for medical care if you have no insurance. ...Read more
