I take metformin, lisinopril and simvastatin. I am having constipation since last 1.5 months, whose side effect could it be?
I am 53 yo male I have constipation often, I eat well fiber, salads, greens etc could allopurinol or lisinopril be causing this?
Possibly: All medications can affect bowel movements. If your constipation only started after the medications it is even more likely. You can try some over the counter stool softer or added fiber eg Metamucil. If it remains please see your gastroenterologist as constipation is often a complex and multi factorial problem.
