Why would my doctor prescribe me lisinopril for hypertension and anxiety/nervousness if one of the side effects is Nervousness/anxiety!!?
ACEI: Miracle BP Pil: Lisinopril is an Ace Inhibitor, most patients love it. It is not for anxiety (unless hypertension brings on anxiety in an individual. It is not the best med for a patient w asthma/copd-smoking, ACEI can exacerbate these). If you don't tolerate Lisinopril there are meds called ARBS, and several of these are generic as well. I do not know much about your history, so I cannot comment further ...Read more
I stop taking my lisinopril & metoprolol I noticed my pressure is up during anxiety attacks. Can this med help during fight or flight episodes?
Anxiety ; Metoprolol: Metoprolol is in a class of medications called beta blockers. They lower blood pressure and also lower your heart rate, and help prevent the rapid heart rate that occurs during panic attacks. If you have taken Lisinopril and metoprolol for a long time and you suddenly stop them, your blood pressure can rebound to a high level. Please call your doctor tomorrow and talk about this. ...Read more

Hbp was 186/110 with anxiety & horrid diet (lisinopril/amlodipine) was good b4 diet, now a week on labetalol/htz wit strict diet 138/98? Feedback?
I didn't inform my doctor that I think the lisinopril was causing dizziness/faint. Now its worse that I stopped. I now have symptoms of social anxiety?
Possible: Lisinopril has as one of its actions the lowering if norepinephrine levels. If they rebound, it could make you feel socially anxious, kind of like what happens when someone with social anxiety is given too high of a dose of the noradrenergic antidepression medication like Norpramin or pamelor (nortriptyline). When that happens, the patient becomes panicky and the social anxiety worsens temporarily until a new equilibrium is established with the medication. Best wishes. ...Read more
I am on wellbutrin, ativan, atorvastatin, escitalopram, lisinopril, abilify (aripiprazole). Can I take propranolol for anxiety/bp?
Use a low dose: Both escitalopram and wellbutrin (bupropion) inhibit liver metabolism (which is how Propranolol is metabolized) and both will result is a stronger Propranolol effect. This will strengthen the effects of Propranolol so start with the smallest dose and monitor your blood pressure and heart rate. It may also make you tired. ...Read more

Confusing question: Lisinopril with hydrochlorothiazide is a simple and effective combination blood pressure medication that works better in combination that either work alone.
