ARB option: Angiotensin receptor blockers have similar effect like ace inhibitors. If you are taking them you don't need ace inhibitors. Arbs usually end with "sartan" eg losartan, telisartan. However, if by "allergy" you mean that they slow down your kidneys then arbs aren't good for you either. Your lipitor, (atorvastatin) BP ; diabetes control (if have it) are very helpful for proteinuria otherwise. ...Read more

?? PE: Need to rule out pulmonary embolism. You need a ct chest. Also you have htn, pcos, pcos increases risk for CAD and also Insulin resistance which inturn can cause cad. Need and ekg and further work up, see a doctor. ...Read more

Face and lips swell: Prinivil (lisinopril) can decrease renal function by reducing glomerular pressure, this is NOT an allergy, in addition it can induce angioedema (swelling of the tongue lips and upper airway), very similar to allergic reactions, although technically not one.

Not sure: Not sure what your question is. Lisinopril is a great medication- you are taking a low dose and your BP is not related to the other issues you speak of. You should work on quitting smoking. Check. Peyronies is treatable. ...Read more

Suggestions: If not done before, please seek out otolaryngological consultation, and perhaps get full-blown otological studies. Might also make sure that you have normal thyroid, B-12, diabetes studies. Yes: Studies show that lisinopril can cause drug induced Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. These studies also show that drug induced lupus caused by lisinopril is sometimes ANA negative. Good luck.

Possible: Lisinopril has as one of its actions the lowering if norepinephrine levels. If they rebound, it could make you feel socially anxious, kind of like what happens when someone with social anxiety is given too high of a dose of the noradrenergic antidepression medication like Norpramin or pamelor (nortriptyline). When that happens, the patient becomes panicky and the social anxiety worsens temporarily until a new equilibrium is established with the medication. Best wishes. ...Read more

Taking lisinopril 20mg and amlodipine 5mg daily. BP has been in the high 130's/90's for a month. Any recommendations?

TAlk to your Doctor.: Good keep the BP log. It does varies from morning to evening and day to day also with activities. Normal BP should range from 110/70 to 140/80.
Limit salt, Be as close to Ideal weight as possible and stay physically active to keep BP under control.
