Liquid Diet For Stomach Problems
Many choices: First, stomach ulcers are often related to infection with H. Pylori. Conventional treatment is with antibiotics but herbs like Mastic Gum can help too. Drugs like Prilosec or Zantac (ranitidine) are usually prescribed but there are natural options like DGL & cabbage juice. What type of diet should I follow for gastritis, dyspepsia, Ibs and acid reflux? I've been trying to drink more water and eat vegetables and fruits.
Diet for GI problems: The recommended diet would be different for each of those G.I. problems. The best diet for you would depend on which of these are actually causing you the most symptoms. I would see a gastroenterologist to help sort out your predominant problem and base your diet on that. Until then, a high fiber diet low in citrus fruits and tomatoes would be a good place to start. Good luck. ...Read more
For problems with inadequate peristalsis (nonspecific neuromuscular problem), is a liquid diet good? Can liquify fruits, veggies, tofu for p.M. Meal
Depends: Liquids tend to be easier to digest (as they are pre-digested down), but some neuromuscular problems are due in part to low vitamin B12 levels, and since B12 is in low quantity in vegetarian and especially vegan diets, it would be important to include this important nutrient. Medium-chain triglycerides and Amino Acids might also play a role in supplementation for such a liquid diet. ...Read more

Lots of acid reflux all day, indigestion and IBS-like discomfort but w/o diarrhea. Is this gastritis? H. Pylori? Should I go on a diet or meds? thx
GERD, ? H. Pylori: Reflux is often associated with H. Pylori but not always. You might have gastritis. You probably have at least some dysbiosis and possibly SIBO. You might have a deficiency of hydrochloric acid. Ideally see an integrative/functional medicine doc to evaluate. Bland diets don't!: Bland diets were the staple of gastritis and ulcer treatment for years. They did not work. Paradoxically, spicy foods, stimulate the stomach with time to produce cytoprotective prostaglandings which inhibit gastritis and ulcer. People with a spicy and hot diet have fewer ulcers than people who live on bland diets (mexico vs us). The transition takes time but occurs. See your doctor for meds! ...Read more

Drinking olive oil on empty stomach in the morning is it helpful for constipation and acidity related problems?
No: It does absolutely nothing except increase your fat. Drink more water and balance your diet. That will fix your constipation. If heartburn or stomach discomfort is your problem, see a doctor to rule out medical causes. Also lose weight, stop smoking, and reduce alcohol intake if any of these apply to you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Having issues with constipation, what's a good non- stimulant stool softener for a patient with gastritis and acid reflux.
Liquid diet: It can, but it really depends on what you are drinking. Normally, just drinking liquids doesn't give you diarrhea. If the liquids contain a high amount of sugar, fats, or dairy (among other things), it is possible that your GI tract may not handle that well and the result can be diarrhea. ...Read more

GI gurgling and bad gas after eating (no food intolerances), soft stool. Comes and goes weekly for 3 months. Could this be SIBO/dysbiosis or IBS?
On depakote. No more GI pain. Have orange-red fecal liquid and grease in stool. Big mouth ulcer. Is it nutrient absorption related?
Insufficient bile: Usually, when there are problems with the gall bladder or liver, insufficient bile excretion may lead to fatty stools. Food may pass through without being adequately digested. Inflammatory bowel conditions, such as ulcerative colitis , may be associated with oily , greasy or bloody stools, which may appear orange in color. It is important to make sure that there is no blood in the stools. Thanks. ...Read more
