Liquid Aminos Benefits
What is your opinion about liquid amino acids? My husband takes them after his fitness training. What benefits do they have?
depends: Amino acids are building blocks of proteins. Back in the 70s, when an all liquid Amino Acid diets was a fad, there were excess deaths (eating exclusively amino acids), but if they're used as a supplement to normal food, they're no more harmful than eating a steak. They're also not necessary if the diet is a healthy well-balanced one. ...Read more
"Amino fuel": It might be generally safe, but it has 10 grams of sugar in each serving and also uses Cyanocobalamin for the b12. Routinely using anything over 5 grams of sugar in a serving causes a sugar spike and increased Insulin response -- possibly leading to Insulin resistance which you do not want. Also, methylcobalamin is much preferable over Cyanocobalamin for the b12. ...Read more

Hi. I jst started taking twin lab amino fuel liquid. I want to lose weight n look slim. Can dis product help me without any side effect?
Maybe: When buying dietary supplements, always remember that they have very little or no oversight. What is printed on the label isn't always what is in the product... and if it is, the amounts may not be consistent. Please be careful with them if you choose to use them. Good luck in your quest for slimness! ...Read more
No calories for days: Forces people into ketosis, i.e. burning fat, thus body fat stores reduce (like what happens to people in concentration camps; not fed or fed minimal). However, many, in response to fasting (with lots of cheap carb foods widely available) end up storing back more fat (after stopping the fast) than they lost during the fast. Thus, generally, in modern USA culture, often ends up a net negative. ...Read more

Florida is very hot and humid throughout the year. Do liquids containing electrolytes benefit a person when trying to walk outdoors?
Generally, yes.: Sweat contains variable amounts of salt and one can lose considerable amounts when exercising in a hot climate. Salt replacement is highly recommended. Unfortunately, commercial "sport drinks" contain lots of sugar (or high fructose corn syrup) and inadequate amounts of electrolytes. Much better to add extra salt to food, or load up with salty pretzels or nuts before exercising. ...Read more

Unknown and no: As is true for most supplements, there are no good studies that demonstrate any true health benefits to l-tyrosine or other amino acids. Since there are no studies, we also do not know anything about their safety. The best thing is to eat a well-balanced diet, avoid excess alcohol or other vices, and exercise. ...Read more

Does the pill/caplet form of apple cider vinegar work as well as the liquid form? I ordered the caplets from puritan. Com. Other benefits of avc (sulfanilamide)?
Why use it?: What do you use acv for? I cannot tell you if caplet work as well as the liquid as I don't prescribe the liquid for anything and I don't know what it is used to treat. I read on the internet that it is used for weight loss, heart burn and keeping flees away. I have seen no evidence that it does any of those things. Sorry. ...Read more
Irregardless of no health benefits, is a 3-day liquid fast(master cleanse)dangerous? Can it cause serious potassium depletion in such short time?
Would avoid on HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide): For most people the master cleanse would not be dangerous for 3 days (but I don't advise it) but it could be dangerous for someone taking hydorchlorothiazide as that medicine causes potassium depletion and the master cleanse only provides 245 mg of the recommended 4700 mg of potassium each day. Nobody knows: There are zero studies of e-cigs, and nobody knows what they will do, even with no nicotine. Nicotine is not the cause of cancer anyway — it is the complex hydrocarbons (tars) in the smoke. It is likely that e-cigs will prove safer than smoked cigarettes, but again, nobody really knows. The propellant in these gadgets is propylene glycol, and nobody knows what inhaling them, or the oils, will do. ...Read more
