Lips Swelling After Kissing
My boyfriend thinks he has mrsa. He had a dried cut on his lip and kissed me. He is now complaining of swelling on his face. Will I get mrsa from him?
R/O MRSA: MRSA IS A VERY AGGRESSIVE TYPE OF SKIN INFECTION. If he has it he is very sick right now and on very strong oral or IV ABS. IF THAT IS THE CASE, YOU NEED A NASAL CULTURE FOR MRSA TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT A CARRIER.& you need to be treated with nasal Bactroban. You need to see a doctor get an exam a&discuss options.
Swelling is the enlargement of organs, skin, or other body parts. It is caused by a buildup of fluid in the tissues. I had lip swelling and discoloration, I noticed it when I woke uo this morning I haven't kissed anyone recently or shared a drink recently, help!
My upper lip is swollening after kissing and my boyfriend sucking on my upper lip a few times. I'm applying ice. I need swelling gone. What else can?
After ruling out: Allergic reaction (people have died from kissing when severe allergies are related) and just considered trauma, decreasing swelling in such a vascularized area will be difficult. Ice may help, 20 min on/off. Hydrocortisone cream may have small effect but use very little in that area. Otherwise, time will be the best treatment. Best of luck!
I have two bumps on my lip and have a little swelling but it is painless I kissed a girl I worried that I have herpes?
Herpes: Herpes is likely and since it's treatable, have a physician examine you for diagnosis and advice.
There's a dark lump where boyfriend bit my lip while kissing. It has been here for a month. No pain or swelling. How do I get rid of it?
Who to see:: See an Oral Surgeon or a Dermatologist for a consultation.
I was recently bitten by a beetle while asleep. Subsequent research leads me to believe it was a "kissing bug". The bite was extremely painful and the reaction (fever, swelling, & pain) continued for a week. I read they can inject a parasite that can
Chagas disease: If you were bitten in north america it is extremely unlikely that you will contract chagas disease. The prevalence of the disease here is just too low. Some will develop an ulcer at the site of the bite. Parasitemia is easily demonstrated with blood smears or pcr.See 1 more doctor answer

How to improve the allergic condition of the body, I usually get swelling of lips/ itching in the body?
Angioedema: I suppose your question is how to treat swelling lips and generalized itching in your body. It looks like you have angioedema in the lips. Since you don't mention if there are skin rashes that go together with itching, it would be hard to see what treatment is the best. You should discuss it more with your local physician.
How long does it take for the puffyness and the swelling of the lips to go away after regurarly exfoliating them? (connected with previous questions)
Why are you: Exfoliating the delicate tissues of the lips? (i don't have a way to cross reference your previous question). I don't know how badly you damaged the tissues - so I can't venture a guess. You may wish to have your injured lips evaluated by a dermatologist.
Depends in cause: Is the swelling due to hormones, hernia, varicocoele, infection, trauma, tumor, simple hyperplasia...? As you can see there are many potential causes, treatment will depend on the cause. Usually ice is the easiest first treatment followed by gentle compression with rest and oral nsaids and possible use of topical/oral arnica ointment or steroids.
Lip swelling: It is likely something you recently ate, drank, touched or a medication you are taking causing an allergic reaction. Can also be what we call angioneurotic edema. Google it. Take some OTC Benedryl if you can. Try to figure out what it was. If it continues to get worse, see a physician ASAP or if trouble swallowing or breathing call 911.See 1 more doctor answer
Natural process: The good news is that area has fantastic blood supply and healing occurs rapidly. Inflammation (red, hot, tender swelling) is the body increasing blood flow to the injury to bring healing factors and also the veins expand to carry bad stuff away. Dressings and ointments are of no value there. Avoid further trauma to the area and let nature take it's course. Protective lip balm will help reduce pain.
