My HIDA scan was at 97%. Do you suggest gallbladder removal? I have had symptoms of pain for the last 5 months under the rib cage, duplicated by HIDA
I have all he symptoms of gallbladder but im having pain in my left rib cage. My hida scan results were 60 %. Does this mean? Will my gldr be removed
Normal hida scan: A normal gallbladder ejection fraction is more than 50%. It is normal in your case. Unless you have a situs invertus (in this case the liver on the left side instead of the right side) your symptom is probably not related to hepatobiliary disease, as demonstrated by your normal hida scan. It might be related to stomach, spleen or other thoracic problems.See 1 more doctor answer
Left back pain where the rib cage ends, also to the side of the body at the same level. What can it be? It hurts when I make pressure no other symptom
Back pain: This could be many things - more information would be needed. If there was a strain or lifting - it could be a muscle strain. If fever or cough - could be pneumonia. If fever or symptoms when you pee - could be kidney infection. If a rash around that side of back with blister like lesions it could be shingles. If the pain persists follow up your physician. Good Luck
Lower left side has had a sharp pain, it's also occurring under my rib cage. Its lasted for maybe about 1 week and a half. Is this normal PMS symptoms?
Left sided pain: Not sure why - one classic cause of left lower quadrant abdominal pain is diverticulitis or other inflammatory bowel problem. The pain under the ribs could be muscle strain. Pms cramps tend to be in lower abdomen. We should also consider gyn issues like ovarian cysts. Talk with your doctor about these symptoms and you can go from there.
Been diagnosed with IBS is discomfort below both sides of rib cage a symptom of ibs. Not painful just uncomfortable at times?
Perhaps: Ibs can cause bloating or uncomfortable distension, which can be felt beneath the rib cage, but most often the pain or cramps are in the lower left abdomen. Please see your physician to exclude other causes (conditions of the liver, pancreas, lungs, kidneys, etc). Most ibs discomfort is strongly related to passing a bowel movement (gets better afterwards).
Does this sound like hernia symptoms? Under my left rib cage at night it feels like something is sliding around and a lump is there also.
Could be: It could be a hernia. If the lump is there all the time then it may be something else. Hernia lumps tend to come out or be more pronounced when there is increased abdominal pressure like when straining to have a bowel movement or when coughing. Have your doctor check it to make sure of the cause of the lump.

I've had a pain in my low back under my rib cage for 2 days. It almost feels like a kidney infection pain, that's my only symptom. It is kidneys?

Ache/pains below left rib cage. Gp felt nothing abnormal. Symptoms still here & making me feel nauseous. Feels like pressure and sometimes like grumbling?
? gas: Below the left rib cage the colon takes a sharp turn and this is a common area for gas entrapment. Drinking hot water and applying a hot water bottle to the area helps break down the gas and helps you pass it. Taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals prevents gas. Your physician is best to evaluate and advise you about appropriate tests and possible referral to a gastroenterologist if necessary.

What are some causes for symptoms of itchy lungs/rib cage sensation on the inside?? Not external : (I noticed that it only happens when I have the flu
Allergies/reaction: This sensation of itchiness can be caused by allergies. If it is only happening when you have the flu then it is probably caused by your bodies reaction to the infection. When we get infected our immune system sends out cells that release substances to rid us of the infection. Sometimes these substances cause inflammation and itchiness as part of the healing process.
